Mad Scientist by Mattel: gross, funny, and totally 80s

Released in 1987 by Mattel, the Mad Scientist toy line gave kids the chance to play as a wacky scientist making disgusting, hilarious experiments. It was part of the 80s craze for gross-out toys, alongside Garbage Pail Kids and Creepy Crawlers.

Highlights of the line included:

• Make a Monster: build-your-own monster kits with mix-and-match parts.
