Juggernaut (1965): The Unstoppable Force of the Marvel Universe

Juggernaut first appeared in July 1965 in The X-Men #12, published by Marvel Comics and created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Emerging during the height of 1960s Marvel storytelling, he quickly became one of the most physically imposing antagonists in the X-Men mythos.

Born Cain Marko, stepbrother of Professor Charles Xavier, Juggernaut derives his powers not from mutation but from the mystical Crimson Gem of Cyttorak. By claiming this artifact, he becomes the earthly avatar of Cyttorak and gains near-limitless strength and invulnerability.

The defining trait of the Marvel Juggernaut is his unstoppable momentum. Once he begins moving forward, very few forces can halt him. His massive enchanted armor shields him from physical and psychic attacks, making him a formidable adversary.

Juggernaut has appeared in animated adaptations such as X-Men: The Animated Series and in films including X-Men: The Last Stand and Deadpool 2. He remains a popular figure in action figures and Marvel collectibles.
