GoBots (1983): The Transforming Robots Before Transformers

GoBots were introduced in 1983 by Tonka and were based on Bandai's Machine Robo toy line.

Featuring robots that transformed into vehicles, they became one of the biggest toy crazes of the early 1980s.

The franchise included the animated series Challenge of the GoBots and memorable characters such as Leader-1 and Cy-Kill.

Although later overshadowed by Transformers, GoBots remain beloved by collectors and retro toy enthusiasts.
