Description
The Pirates of Dark Water: A Forgotten Fantasy Adventure
The Pirates of Dark Water is an American animated fantasy adventure series created by David Kirschner and produced by Hanna-Barbera, originally broadcast between 1991 and 1993.
Set on the ocean-covered planet Mer, the story follows Ren, a young prince searching for the legendary Thirteen Treasures of Rule to stop the mysterious Dark Water from destroying his world.
Accompanied by Ioz, Tula, and Niddler, Ren faces dangerous creatures and the ruthless pirate lord Bloth, commander of the fearsome Maelstrom.
Despite ending after only 21 episodes, the series developed a cult following thanks to its imaginative world, distinctive animation, and epic storytelling.
Its legacy also includes Hasbro action figures and video game adaptations released for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.
