Description

The Smurfs is a Belgian children's comic strip series created by Peyo in 1958, telling the story of an imaginary people of little blue creatures living in a mushroom village in the middle of a vast forest. The first sixteen albums were published by their author. Since his death on December 24, 1992, his son Thierry Culliford has been in charge of publishing the new albums.

All the albums tell the story of the Smurfs' life in their village in the heart of an imaginary forest in Europe during the mythical Middle Ages, defending themselves against the sorcerer Gargamel and his cat Azraël, or setting off on great adventures. The whole tribe lives in mushroom houses in a small village in the heart of the forest. The Smurfs are small and blue, with a round tail. They wear a Phrygian cap and white socks, with the exception of their leader, Papa Smurf, who wears red, and a few other Smurfs, such as Handyman Smurf, Peasant Smurf and Wild Smurf.
