Majorette
In the 1990s, French die-cast brand Majorette took a wild turn with a crazy toy line: Extranimals.
The idea? Cars that looked like they had fused with wild animals — mechanical beasts tearing through jungles and racetracks alike.
Each model featured:
flashy animal-inspired designs (fangs, claws, reptilian textures),
bold colors and chrome finishes,
a hybrid style that made them part racing car, part creature.
They were basically the mutant Hot Wheels of France, bringing a touch of wilderness and fantasy to die-cast collections.
Though not as long-lived as Majorette’s core lines, today Extranimals are sought after by collectors for their quirky, over-the-top designs.
